Carlo Meriano / Toys Are Just

Biography
Carlo Meriano is a songwriter that likes to visit various genres with a different approach. When it comes to electro he uses a $4.99 guitar he bought on a whim at Value Village. He also plays the ukulele, the acoustic guitar and any other toy instrument that he can make sound good. His main muse is Twilight Zone, the classic episodes to be exact. However, he's known to dabble in many other topics that will allow him to express his quick wit in melody. Carlo's live forty minute set is perhaps one of the most honest you will ever see. He's a nervous wreck, which, is part of the appeal of watching him perform. His overtly expressive face hides very little and stage lighting does nothing but magnify the whirlwind of emotion he sways though while singing his songs.
Carlo has played extensively throughout Ontario including shows in Toronto at the Silver Dollar, Opera House and Sneaky Dee's. He's played a number of music festivals including the Guildwood Alive Arts Festival and Kingsfest 2009, and toured in the East Coast opening for Andrew WK.
"A driving excursion of of blips, bleeps, and beats, this is a sound falling somewhere in between chiptune music (video game inspired electronica) and 80's New Wave, making for a catchy audio mind-trip that'll get you thinking and dancing at the same time".

"Toys Are Just EP is not the book, contains far less than you've grown accustomed to in little (non) smokey bars- Carlo Meriano wants to talk to someone, but only if they might flip to the back, skip the rotting meat... if you wonder what all this means, let me fast forward to the point of an album recorded with toys and beats- have sex with someone to this music and see if that doesn't work out for you".
